In Salesforce/Jungo, a round-robin lead assignment rule can be set up to distribute leads evenly among a group of loan officers/account executives or users. This type of rule ensures that each user in the group has an equal opportunity to work on new leads. To create a round-robin lead assignment rule in Salesforce, follow these steps:
- Create a Lead Number f+Field to Give Each New Lead a Unique ID
- Navigate to Setup.
- In the Setup menu, click Object Manager.
- Click Lead.
- Click Fields & Relationships.
- Click New.
- Select Autonumber, and click Next.

- Name your field Lead Number.
- In Display Format, enter {0}.
- In Starting Format, enter 1.
- Check the box to Set this field as the unique record identifier from an external system and click Next.

- Give user permission to the right people and click Next.
- Uncheck all Page Layout boxes, and click Save & New.
2. Create a Round Robin Field That Tells the System to Assign Each New Lead to the Next User in Order
- Select Formula as datatype of the new field and click Next.

- Give a label to the new field, say ‘Round Robin’.
- Select Number for the ‘Formula Return type’.

- In the Decimal Places dropdown, choose 0, and click Next.
- Select Advanced Formula.
- In the Test (Number) =field, paste the formula given in the screenshot. The phrase Lead_Number pulls the name of the field you created in the previous section. 3 indicates the number of users to be included in the round robin rotation.

- Click Next.
- Give user permission to the right people and click Next.
- Uncheck all Page Layout boxes and click Save.
3. Create a Lead Assignment Rule to Ensure Leads are Assigned Evenly Across Users
- In Setup, search for Lead Assignment Rules, and open it.
- Click New.
- Name the rule Round Robin Assignment Rule, and click Save.
- Click to open Round Robin Assignment Rule.
- In the Rule Entries section, click New.
- In Sort Order, enter 1.
- Set the rule criteria by choosing Round Robin in the Field dropdown, Equals in the Operator dropdown, and 1 in the Value field.
- In the “User/Queue” column, select the users or queues that should be included in the round-robin assignment.
- Optionally, select an email template to tell the user that the rule has been assigned to them.
- Save the rule entry.
- Add more rule entries if you want to include additional users or queues. For this, repeat steps 5 through 9 for each user in the round robin rotation. Give each user in your org a number. Every time you add a user to the round robin rotation, change the sort order and the round robin equals number to the user’s number. You can set the sort order based on user seniority or performance.
- In the “Active” column, check the box to activate the assignment rule.
- Save the assignment rule.
Once the round-robin lead assignment rule is active, new leads will be automatically distributed among the users or queues specified in the rule entries, following the defined sort order. Each user will receive leads in a rotating fashion, ensuring a fair distribution of workload.
4. Allow Round Robin Lead Assignment on Manually-Created Leads.
- In Setup, click Object Manager.
- Click Lead.
- Click Page Layouts.
- Open Lead Layout.
- Click Layout Properties.
- Next to Lead Assignment Checkbox, check the box to Show on edit page, and click Okay.
- Save your changes.
