Lenders can streamline the process of obtaining homeowners insurance with Encompass Consumer Connect. Homeowners Insurance Service in Encompass Consumer Connect makes the challenging task of borrowers providing proof of homeowners insurance (HOI) a more automated and efficient process.
- Rather than borrowers having to work through multiple systems and vendors to purchase an HOI policy and then manually upload the required documentation, they can use the Homeowners Insurance Service to seamlessly request quotes and purchase HOI from within the loan.
- Lenders then save time and ensure loan quality by receiving the borrower proof of HOI directly in the loan file in Encompass in a closing-ready format.
Managing the Homeowners Insurance Service in the Encompass Consumer Connect Site
- The Homeowners Insurance Service with GEICO is enabled on Encompass Consumer Connect sites and borrower portal widgets by
default. - This means that borrowers are automatically presented with a GEICO Homeowners Insurance task card in the borrower portal unless a lender administrator disables the service or configures another provider.
Configuring the Homeowners Insurance Service
The Home Owners Insurance service setting is a site-level setting that is enabled by default in Consumer Connect. If desired, the service can be disabled on a Consumer Connect site or borrower portal widget from the Borrower Loan Portal tab in the Consumer Connect Admin.
To Enable or Disable the Homeowners Insurance Service on the Borrower Portal
- Log into your Consumer Connect
- In the Consumer Connect Admin, go to Borrower Loan Portal.
- If you have more than one site, select the site you want to edit from the drop-down list at the top of the
- Click Services Settings to expand the section.
To display the Homeowners Insurance task card in the borrower portal, set the Home Owners Insurance option to ON.
When set to OFF, the Homeowners Insurance task card is not displayed in the borrower portal.
- Click Save.
Changing the Homeowners Insurance Provider
To Change the Homeowners Insurance Service Provider
- In the Consumer Connect Admin, go to Services Management.
- If you have more than one site, select the site you want to edit from the drop-down list at the top of the

Select the desired service provider from the Home Owners Insurance Service drop-down
Click Save.
