From the Home page click ‘Create’ and select ‘Dashboard’ from the picklist.

You can either create a blank dashboard or choose a template to initiate your dashboard design.

Select the template which is most suited to your business requirements.

Name your dashboard , save it in an App. Now start creating your dashboard.
Add Widgets to the Dashboard
Widgets are the basic building blocks of a dashboard. In the dashboard designer, you can add different widgets to perform functions. For example, widgets can calculate key performance indicators, filter dashboard results, visualize your data using interactive charts, and show record-level details in tables.

Create Query
To display data, widgets require query. The type of widget we choose determines the way to display the results returned by the query. For example, a query calculates the total opportunity amount, grouped by state/province. A bar chart widget displays the results in a bar chart format with each bar showing the total opportunity amount for a state.
Click either on ‘Chart’ or ‘Create Query’ and select the data source from the available options.

After selecting the desired data source, you can segment the data in the way you want to visualize it. You can add filters to get more insights into the data.

Choose from the Chart types to display the data in the most concise and readable form. You have bar charts, Line charts, maps etc to choose and in that too even have furthermore choices.

You can give a title to the widget and it can be formatted from the formatting option below the Chart section.

After everything is done, save the dashboard. When saving, you can optionally place it any suitable app you have created or in earlier existing ones. Each block of the dashboard you made by following the above steps can be stacked to build the final dashboard, each one of them being called a ‘Lens’.
